Robert Half Staff Accountant in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Description We are on the hunt for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In this role, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Additionally, you will also be expected to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Perform the month-end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

• Participate in special projects and impromptu reporting upon request

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Conduct in-depth month-end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

• Participate in a variety of department-wide initiatives

• Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements • Must possess a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) and General Ledger is required

• Ability to perform account reconciliation effectively

• Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Must adhere to all company policies and procedures

• Must have legal authorization to work in the country of employment.
