Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing the health and performance of Tri-State’s utility plant assets and providing technical guidance for equipment diagnostics and maintenance strategies. Supervise the transition to and operation of the Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS) and Oracle Field Service (OFS) systems, ensuring accurate data migration, maintenance, and staff training. Responsible for Tri-State’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan and ensuring its alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Oversees the UAS/Drone program development to enhance transmission maintenance activities. With an emphasis on data, the role involves generating reports on asset health, optimal maintenance practices, adhering to industry regulations, and promoting professional growth within the department.

Senior Manager, Asset Management and Field Services

Hiring Salary Range: $141,000-$239,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Oracle WACS and OFS environment processes to ensure consistent application across Tri-State business Unit.

  • Lead collaboration with Oracle Integration Teams to adopt best practices within WACS and OFS.

  • Establish processes for data entry and regular audits of WACS data to ensure accuracy and quality within the system.

  • Adapt OFS to optimize field crew scheduling, dispatching, and routing.

  • Oversee staff training on the WACS and OFS platforms, ensuring consistent knowledge.

  • Lead the development of processes for regular reviews and enhancements of Work Requests and Work Order workflows post-Oracle system implementation.

  • Lead the ongoing development of Tri-State’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan, ensuring its alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

  • Direct inter-departmental collaboration for consistent execution of the Wildfire Mitigation Plan and timely communication to regulatory entities.

  • Oversee strategies to ensure significant utility plant assets' health, longevity, and performance.

  • Provide technical support to maintenance crews, including performing equipment malfunction and failure investigations.

  • Develop and implement criteria and diagnostics of asset conditions to sustain and extend the life of significant utility plant assets.

  • Develop maintenance and replacement strategies based on equipment health, system risk, and industry best practices.

  • Support various maintenance functional areas in major equipment's technical assessment and reliability.

  • Oversee the creation of reports and dashboards of asset health, maintenance schedules, and associated costs.

  • Adhere to industry regulations and standards, such as FERC and NERC.

  • Retain applicable compliance records, including maintenance histories, inspections, and certifications.

  • Develop strategies for best practices related to asset management and field services optimizations.

  • Engage with industry groups as necessary for insights on best practices, technological advances, and regulatory updates.

  • Guide and mentor managers toward aligning departmental goals, strategies, and execution.

  • Cultivate a collaborative environment emphasizing innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Encourage continuous professional growth within the department.

  • Promote a culture that values data-driven decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and requirements for functional areas.

  • Ensures that training and developmental needs for employees are identified and opportunities provided.

  • Ensures team and individual employee execution is evaluated against established goals and objectives for all accountabilities.

  • Effectively forecasts work and resource needs, including human, capital, and physical resources. Recommends annual budgets to meet goals and objectives aligned to support organizational strategies, goals, and objectives. Actively monitors performance against budget to identify variances and improve future execution.

  • Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.

  • Because Tri-State must provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a utility-related field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Demonstrated leadership with a record of effective team management.

  • Familiarity with utility technology and data management platforms.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of asset performance best practices, predictive maintenance technologies, and field service functions.

  • Analytical aptitude with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.

  • Effective communication skills, fostering collaboration across diverse teams.

  • Experience in budgeting and optimal resource allocation.

  • Proficient in building and maintaining relationships with executive managers, peers, external entities, and members.

  • Strategic foresight to anticipate long-term opportunities and challenges.

  • Proven problem-solving aptitude with a track record of driving solutions.

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of related experience in the electric utility industry, including at least five (5) years in a managerial capacity.

Other:

  • Ability and willingness to travel for training and meetings as necessary. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
