Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company's key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for aProjectScheduler, Engineering Supportto join our West Hartford, CT team. The scheduler job description calls for an individual who is highly organized and understands the processes that drive new product development programs / project execution. The successful applicant will work within the New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Engineering group and is responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of multiple program schedules, supporting, and working closely with both Project Engineers and Program Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop/maintain various project schedules in MS Project ensuring that documentation is accurate and timely
  • Support the use of MS Project by providing expert advice and support to others
  • Create/implement data management collection techniques using tools such as Deltek Cobra and JDE
  • Identify NPI program needs based on data collected and analyzed
  • Perform data validation and implement quality control measures to ensure the continued success of programs
  • Create budgetary controls and financial management processes
  • Submit reports to relevant department heads and management
  • Balance multiple projects and tasks as the norm
  • Provide project leadership and/or assistance on internal projects for Eng facility development, capital improvement projects, and other non-product projects
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities within Eng; assist in tracking Eng's CI events and participation
  • Create and/or maintain standard work for Project Engineering scheduling tasks

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a business or tech field preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Firm understanding of Program Mgt best practices; PMP coursework/cert is a plus
  • Ability to understand project milestones and how to alter execution for optimal impact
  • Experience using MS Project required
  • Experience using Deltek applications is a plus
  • Ability to calculate program statistics like Cost/Schedule Perf. Index (CPI/SPI) and Est to Complete (ETC)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Proficiency in mathematics with the skill to translate complex mathematical information into clear reports
  • Experience with running cont. impr. events; Six Sigma black belt is a plus
  • Strong communications and presentation skills
