Job Description

In this position, you will join theLegal, Compliance & Risk Management(LCR)China & APAC Legal Team and play an important role in protecting the world-famous LEGO brand and products for the builders of the future.This is a chance to work in a collaborative and innovative environment where your expertise will contribute to our continued success and growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Corporate Counsel for the factory on all legal tasks.

  • Provide legal advice to a wide variety of stakeholders, on all issues related to the operation of the LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam, including, but not limited to: company law, employment law, labor law, contract law, customs issues, health and safety issues, real estate issues, security issues, confidentiality and privacy law, Governance and Compliance, and environmental law.

  • Support the factory and business stakeholders, as well as other Corporate Counsels in the company globally, with drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts related to operations at the factory, both in terms of working with LEGO contract templates and external parties’ contract templates.

  • Create and maintain standard contract templates and guidelines as part of a defined review cadence, in electronic company document management system.

  • Support stakeholders with follow-up advice and consultation to colleagues and business stakeholders regarding contract terms and negotiation strategy.

  • Support stakeholders in providing training to business on contract related issues, e.g. contract templates and contract law.

  • Provide support on any Operations activity in APAC and global projects.

  • Assist in the preparation of the factory’s Supervisory Board Meeting agenda and minutes two times per year.

  • Provide training to Vietnam business units on relevant legal issues, including but not limited to Data Privacy, Governance, Compliance and Ethics, as well as preparation for any government visits or audits.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Law School Degree (such as J.D., LL.M. or equivalent) or equivalent is preferred

  • AdvancedEnglish – level 13/C1 is required in writing and speech.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of (postgraduate) legal experience from an in-house role at a Vietnamese or Global company, or junior level law firm position.

  • Proven track record in commercial law matters, including but not limited to contracts, employment law, and compliance matters.

  • Great synthesis of legal issues and ability to communicate concisely and to build trust with business stakeholders.

  • Business Partner mindset.

  • Able to make effective presentations and conduct training.

  • An appetite for and ability to learn new skills, as well as the willingness to follow-through on tasks.

  • Highly collaborative, with a curious mindset and a “can do” approach.

  • Professional demeanor and maturity.

  • A real team player.

  • Proven ability to advise business clients effectively.

  • Experience in meeting and working with government authorities.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with employment issues.

  • Experience with corporate governance matters.

  • Experience with Data Privacy issues.

  • Experience with IP issues.

  • Some travel expected, likely not to exceed 30 days per year.
