AIG Nordic Practice Lead, Financial Institutions in Stockholm, Sweden

Over the previous years we have been investing in talent and expanding our Financial Lines team in the Nordics, and we are currently looking for a Nordic Practice Lead of our Product Line “Financial Institutions”. Our ideal candidate comes with vast experience within underwriting of financial lines products to financial institutions, coupled with strong technical and people management skills.

As part of the Nordic Financial Lines team, you will become a valued member of a dedicated and professional group of 21 underwriters and 5 students currently based out of Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Stockholm. The primary location for this position is Stockholm – however, for the right candidate we are willing to consider any of our Nordic offices, including Oslo.

Your primary focus will be leading and developing a team of 3 underwriting professionals that deliver Financial Institution (FI) insurance products to AIG’s clients within: Director’s and Officer’s Liability, Crime, Employment Liability, and Professional Indemnity. Further, you are expected to take part in the underwriting of these clients. As part of the Nordic Financial Lines leadership team, you will work closely with the Nordic Head of Financial Lines and other Practice Leaders (Cyber, MLC, PI, and K&R) in setting the overall direction for our team’s success, which includes, underwriting strategy, resource allocation, budgeting, marketing initiatives, client presentations, and wording development.

Key Responsibilities:

As the FI Practice Lead you are expected to carry an analytical, technical, and communicative role when handling the product line, including:

  • Developing relationships with existing and new clients and their insurance brokers

  • Managing renewals and new business submissions

  • Working together with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal service to our clients

  • Participating in wording development and marketing initiatives

  • Attend internal and external education & training sessions to ensure your continuous professional development

  • Underwriting allocation together with other Practice Leads and Head of Financial Lines

  • Support and build on our one Nordic team culture, including acting as referral point on FI products and ensuring our team is up to date on available training

  • Pipeline-building and evaluation of win-opportunities on new business for FI across the Nordics

  • Budget and forecast update and planning for Nordic FI

Position Requirements:

  • Have great communication skills and excel in negotiating and presenting to various stakeholders

  • Have proven leadership skills and are used to setting and achieving goals for yourself and others
