Job Summary

Comcast is seeking a Manager, Enterprise Procurement to help build the broadband infrastructure of the future. In this role you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and industry leaders to develop, champion, and execute category strategies to enable the multiple year network upgrade across the Comcast network to bring multigigabit symmetrical broadband to millions of homes. This role will primarily be responsible for strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships for last mile technology enablement for hybrid fiber coax and fiber to the premise solutions. This role reports to the Senior Director of Access Network Infrastructure. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, category management experience, and a commercial mindset. Ability to engage cross-functionally to understand the needs of business unit leadership, identify and evaluate potential partners and suppliers, draft and issue requests for proposals, lead negotiations, identify and execute on cost reduction opportunities, and overall category management. Candidates who possess knowledge of broadband technology are highly desirable. Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Procurement department. Primarily responsible for the external procurement, sourcing and contracting of goods and services. Implements department procedures and objectives. Assists in creating and implementing department budget. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and provides guidance to employees as required. Core responsibilities include: • Proactively engage with Comcast stakeholders (program management, engineering, operations, strategy, finance, and product development) to develop and execute multiple year strategies to support Comcast’s network upgrade and expansion. • Gain category expertise by understanding market & technology conditions; align and update strategy to meet business needs and mitigate risk. • Identify sourcing alternatives to drive efficiencies via benchmarking, competitive quotes, and changing requirements. • Conduct and compile supplier, industry, and market research to build negotiation strategies and identify opportunities to drive efficiencies. • Lead the day-to-day process of ensuring successful partnerships. • Drive cost transparency and build total cost of ownership models. • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and serve as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues. General Candidate Requirements • Commercial mindset and strong analytical skills, including data visualization skills. • Solid organizational and project management skills • Strong written and oral communications skills • Experience interacting with and presenting to leadership and stakeholders at a variety of levels. • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently to achieve cross-functional results. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree, with 5+ years related experience. Degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations preferred, but other majors accepted with right work experience. • Consulting, Business Development, Telecom/Cable experience is a plus. • Candidates should be proficient with Excel and PowerPoint. • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders.

  • Selects and manages new and existing suppliers through competitive solicitation and direct negotiations. Manages vendor/supplier relationships and interfaces with key executives on supplier issues.

  • Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner and ensures results through consistent monitoring of staff, suppliers and procedures.

  • Coordinates and reports procurement activities, plans and consults with key representatives across several departments.

  • Assesses market conditions that may effect procurements continually.

  • Develops, mentors and trains staff. Monitors to ensure work performance is to Company's standards.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
