Controls Engineer

1st Shift, Salaried, 9/80 Schedule Optional

Our Electrical Controls Engineer must possess the following qualities: customer-focused, ability to multitask, problem solver, above-average computer skills, exceptional organizational skills, an eye for detail, safety conscious, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibility:

• Design controls and equipment. Program PLC controls, HMI systems and SQL for proper function. Develop databases as required for proper data storage.

• Designs and develops electrical and electronic drawings (AutoCAD) for equipment and facilities. Follow standard drawing and electrical practices.

• Perform the necessary calculations to assure electrical safety in equipment design.

• Assist the Plant Engineer with keeping building and equipment drawings current and accurate.

• Develop Operation Manuals and systems documentation for equipment as necessary.

• Assist in resolving problems, delays and difficulties; notifies the Plant Engineer or Manager of problems.

• Assist and direct outside contractors as needed.

  Qualifications:

• Two (2) year, preferred four (4) year degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience with a minimum of one year of Electrical Engineering experience in a manufacturing or plant setting.

• Proficient in MS Office as well as Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation Software. High electrical aptitude.

• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical Software or equivalent.

• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & give adequate and competent direction.

• Ability to work, lead, and mentor in a cross-function team setting, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to effectively manage projects. Be driven by known project constraints, due dates, and cost goals.

• Ability to interact and work well with a diverse workforce across all levels of the organization.

• Be proactive in continuous improvement.

• Ability to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
