Description

Robert Half is partnering with a Well-Known Law Firm, and sourcing for a Patent Prosecution Paralegal. The primary focus of this role will be to maintain and manage U.S. and foreign patent prosecution dockets, ensuring that deadlines are met and tasks are completed. This is a remote and ongoing contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage U.S. and foreign patent prosecution dockets, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed

• Draft correspondence to clients regarding U.S. and international patent prosecution events under the guidance of attorneys

• Communicate directly with clients regarding routine or procedural patent prosecution events

• Assist attorneys in managing U.S. and international patent portfolios

• Review and maintain accuracy of patent files, understanding docket and deadlines, and action needed on each file

• Draft various patent prosecution documents related to new applications, formalities, examination, patent appeals, and post-allowance actions for attorney review

• File patent prosecution documents under attorney direction with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

• Create, monitor, and maintain U.S. information disclosure statement database in the IP docket management system

• Navigate the USPTO online system for application status updates and downloading of documents

• Review requirements per client and ensure they are met.

Requirements

• Prior work history as a paralegal or similar role

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software

• A degree in law or paralegal certification

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Strong multitasking capabilities and ability to work under pressure

• Knowledge of legal terminology and principles

• Ability to conduct legal research and drafting legal documents

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Willingness to continue learning and improving legal knowledge.
