Honeywell Advanced Application Engineer - Controls/Software/Electrical in Mason, Ohio

The Advanced Application Engineer concepts the Controls, Software, and Electrical estimates for existing Intelligrated systems. Accurately documented proposals and estimates describe scope, schedule, price, and responsibilities of a project. The Advanced Application Engineer works with customers, sales representatives, and other proposal development team members to translate customer needs into solutions regarding existing systems. The Advanced Application Engineer works on a medium to high number of systems of high complexity at the same time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentors, trains, and provides direction to Application Engineers in applying principles, techniques, standards, and equipment to the concept design and costing of Intelligrated case conveyor, high speed sortation, and integrated systems

  • Attends project engineering design review meetings and project Sales Turnover meetings to provide relevant information and expertise

  • Support the technical portion of proposals to address future business opportunities with our customers

  • Conducts analysis of the requirements of the material handling concept to evaluate options and implement solutions that meet our customer’s expectations

  • Works together with the pre-sales project team to identify and document risks associated with each project. Document mitigation methods of the defined risks related to these projects

  • Review’s system to assure that the overall system solution developed is cost effective, meets customer performance requirements and is market competitive

  • Assists in developing and refining business processes and procedures

  • Assist in Sales Strategic Development

  • Perform metric based costing, proposal templates for automation

  • Model based system design of after-market modifications

  • Cost & price estimation and proposal creation, verification, and validation

  • Accurately define a clear scope of work

  • Research, read and analyze existing, code, software, and equipment documentation including AutoCAD layouts

  • Gather estimating data from Subject Matter Experts and estimating pricing tools

  • Provide cost estimates and proposal content for the solution

  • Communicate with team members via Salesforce

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • 5 years of experience in controls/software, electrical design/layout

  • Ability to read schematics

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Minimum travel availability: 10%

  • Physical capabilities including but not limited to:

  • Extensive walking

  • Climbing ladders

Operating Scissor Lifts

  • Highly Preferred: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including researching answers to questions

  • Customer facing experience

  • Interact well with people from various teams

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to internal and external audiences

  • Technical competence with Intelligrated products

  • Experience with Word, Excel, Salesforce, SharePoint, AutoCAD, and Outlook programs

  • General PLC, Electrical, Mechanical knowledge

  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment
