SUMMARY: Assists engineers and focuses on quality, process, and cost improvements as well as individual projects. This position will report to the Engineering Supervisor.

I. Major Job Responsibilities Set-up and operation of all equipment for production. Operation of AutoCAD and related CAD systems. Assume engineering duties when engineer is not available. Occasional travel (daily and overnight). Work with and train operators and set-up personnel. Work with vendors to document proper equipment operation techniques or troubleshoot equipment problems. Participate on AQP, NPIS, and FEMA teams. Assist in design and development of tooling, processes, and equipment. Perform capability studies and write reports. Participate in training required for new processes. Determine the root cause of manufacturing defects, and develop and implement permanent corrective actions. Work with customers to clarify defect information and determine functionality requirements in part applications. Present Manufacturing data to customers such as capability studies, corrective action reports, part layouts, and other information as required. Determine the root cause of manufacturing downtime and develop and implement continuous improvement suggestions. Set up and trouble shoot robotic processes. Perform time, motion, and other studies. Perform job duties in line with company policies, procedures and work instructions pertaining ISO 14001 and Safety requirements. Perform job functions in compiance with relevant environmental, health and safety regulations. Perform other duties as needed.

II. Qualifications: Working knowledge and understanding of engineering systems (i.e., process changes, ECO's, CR's, print files, AQP, documentation, etc.). Working knowledge of other computer systems (word processing, spread sheets, etc.). Working knowledge of processes required for metal tube fabrication. Prior set-up experience preferred. Successful completion of aptitude assessment test. Must be willing to participate in additional training as required. Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T. Demonstrated mechanical and logical thought ability. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to document modifications using AutoCad and general Microsoft programs and applications. Must be able to think logically and proactively coordinate work between departments and ensure follow-through on implementation.

III. Employee work performance: No written warnings for work rule violations or attendance for 90 days and longer than 6 months service.
