The Legal team advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, framework agreements, standard terms of business, procurement, sponsorship, and IT related agreements. Our team provides advice across the business on a broad range of legal and risk issues impacting CBRE as well as other matters that arise from time to time, such as disputes, data privacy and IP, with the support of external counsel where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, negotiate and advise on local business agreements including Master Services Agreements, NDAs, subcontracts and local country agreements for all service lines

  • Work autonomously and efficiently to deliver legal solutions to support business development

  • Create and maintain internal precedent document templates

  • Develop and deliver live and web-based training programs to the businesses

  • Provide and manage litigation strategy and dispute resolution processes in collaboration with local in-house counsel, the insurance risk management team and external counsel, where required

  • Oversee management of CBRE’s global litigation tracking platform with respect to professional indemnity, employment liability and fee dispute matters

  • Work collaboratively with US litigation and insurance risk management teams

  • Instruct and manage outside counsel and advisors in relation to specialised or technical legal projects

  • Provide ad hoc advice to, and collaborate with, legal, operational and commercial colleagues across EMEA with respect to multi-jurisdictional special projects

  • Peer review, supervision and mentoring junior members of the legal team

  • Manage legal operations, including ensuring precedent documents and internal resources (e.g. intranet) are up to date, organise monthly training sessions for lawyers across the region, and advise on legal operations strategies (e.g. implementation of new tools, etc)

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Qualified Solicitor (Common Law) with a minimum of 2 years PQE, ideally gained in private practice and in house

  • Solid commercial contracts experience

  • Experience working in a multi-national organisation

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work independently, proactively and co-operatively

  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met

  • Willingness to work on tight timeframes at a fast pace, including accommodating different time zones on global transactions

  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail

  • Professional and approachable whilst also being adaptable

  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues
