Young & Franklin / Tactair Assembly & Test Technician, Aerospace in Liverpool, New York

2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. OR 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Time and a half for hours over 10 in a day, and of course 40 in a week. $2 an hour shift differential. REQUIRES random drug and alcohol testing throughout the year. The drug test screens for: Marijuana, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine and semi-synthetic opioids: hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone. Position SummaryAssembles aerospace components to include hydraulic and pneumatic valves and actuators, using tools and equipment in accordance with company and safety guidelines. ResponsibilitiesPerforms the assembly operation according to the drawing, shop traveler, assembly instruction and other instructions.Ensure parts and material are handled properly and protected.Performs general aerospace assembly processes such as; name plating, Lockwire, sealing, etc.Picks up, sweeps or removes any debris, residue or any excess foreign material located in or around a part, components or assembly as soon as physically possible after the operation takes place.Maintains a clean uncluttered work area and takes precautions against the introduction of foreign objects into components and assemblies.Performs additional duties as assigned. Education and ExperienceMust be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.High School graduate, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. FAA A&P (Airframe/Power plant) certificate a plus but not necessary.Requires mechanical ability, manual dexterity and proficiency with hand tools.Experience with precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and gauges.Experience reading blueprints; electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics a plus.Mechanical ability and manual dexterity.Must have basic knowledge of computers.
