Robert Half Bookkeeper in Dresden, New York

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper in Dresden, New York. The role involves maintaining the financial health of the organization by recording and managing the company's financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions

• Complete the posting process of day-to-day financial transactions

• Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month

• Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, receipt of payments, and account reconciliation

• Handle accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets

• Generate custom financial reports as needed

• Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures

• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and maintain an orderly accounting filing system

• Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and spreadsheets (Excel) for recording transactions

• Ensure the integrity and security of financial data. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and Bookkeeping tasks

• Demonstrable skills in Data Entry

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Experience in handling Payroll

• Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks software

• Proven ability to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness

• Relevant educational background or equivalent work experience in bookkeeping or related field.
