The Housing and Residential Education (HRE) team at the University of Denver is committed to providing housing and support services for over 3,000 on-campus students. Position Summary

Each Property Manager holds a 20 hour per week, academic year appointment (August 19, 2024, to June 20, 2025) with Housing & Residential Education and reports directly to the Housing Program Manager, or otherwise designated supervisor, while supporting the House Corporation for the chapter with whom the Property Manager resides. This is a live-in position. Housing includes unfurnished one-bedroom unit all utilities included.

The Property Manager shares the responsibility for the operation of a co-curricular facility in which they strive to promote inclusive communities. The Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the chapter facility, in conjunction with the House Corporation, to ensure that the Chapter House meets University standards regarding health and safety expectations.

This is a temporary, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Duties

There are unique aspects of each Property Manager position at the University of Denver. Each House Property Manager must meet with the House Corporation to review those aspects of the positions that are unique to that chapter house. Each Property Manager is expected to fulfil the following responsibilities, in addition to others that may be assigned throughout the year:

For Housing & Residential Education

  • Be familiar with the student engagement platform Crimson Connect for necessary administrative tasks
  • Participate in University sponsored, semi-annual training in August and January
  • Attend regularly scheduled Property Manager Meetings with Housing & Residential Education
  • Be knowledgeable of how students can access University services and opportunities
  • Adhere to all rules set forth by the house corporation and Housing & Residential Education in the living space except for having alcohol in their living space if they are 21+ years old
  • Participate in trainings and development to build necessary competencies
  • Serve as the primary advocate for the University of Denver, specifically Housing & Residential Education

Facility Management

  • Work closely with House Corporation, the Chapter Advisor, and the Housing Program Manager
  • Coordinate necessary work orders for the facility, in conjunction with the University's Department f Facility Management, the House Corporation, and the Housing Program Manager
  • Liaise with Campus Safety, Pioneer ID Office, and IT
  • Manage the technical aspects of the key inventory, card access, and outside door access to those facilities with appropriate technology
  • Along with the Housing & Residential Education Office, facilitate the check in/out process, damages process, auditing placements, charges and applications.
  • Provide reports, including life safety issues, work order requests, and overall state of the facility, to Housing & Residential Education and to the House Corporation
  • Assist Student Chapter House Manager in:

  • Conducting bi-weekly walk-throughs of the facility

  • Submitting work orders in a timely fashion and following up with responsible parties

  • Be present for all Facility and Campus Safety inspections by the University
