Position Description

The Computational Science and Engineering Laboratory at Harvard University invites applications for a postdoctoral position at the interface of High Performance Computing, Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence for applications ranging from turbulence to collective fluid mechanics beginning September 1, 2024, or as soon thereafter as possible. The position is for one year, renewable for two additional years. The candidate will work closely with Professor Petros Koumoutsakos cse-lab.harvard.edu (http://cse-lab.seas.harvard.edu/) For further information, please contact petros@seas.harvard.edu.

Basic Qualifications

PhD in Computational Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or Physics by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications

Applicants background may include studies in: Computational Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering and Physics. Expertise (or desire to work) in reduced order modeling, Causal inference and High Performance Computing are desirable. We particularly encourage applicants with expertise in Generative AI, Foundation Models, Collective Fluid Mechanics, Active Matter, Cybernetics , Physics and Engineering. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative and international environment. Applications from women and under-represented minorities are strongly encouraged.
