As an AMER Partner Solutions Architect at AWS, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our IBM channel team and selected consulting partners in North America to drive deep adoption and broad use of IBM offerings on the AWS platform. You will leverage your technical expertise and business acumen to develop strategic roadmaps, enable partner teams, and deliver high-quality solutions that delight our mutual customers.

Key job responsibilities

• Evangelize IBM offerings on AWS through various channels, including AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public speaking events

• Engage directly with customers on projects to migrate or extend their infrastructure to AWS, providing technical guidance and solution design support

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, solution designs, and implementation guides specific to IBM software on AWS

• Work closely with product engineering teams to provide feedback, recommend improvements, and contribute to the enhancement of IBM-AWS integrations

• Stay up-to-date with the latest IBM and AWS technologies, features, and roadmaps, and evangelize their adoption within the IBM channel team

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies related to IBM software delivery on AWS

• Participate in internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to upskill a variety of internal and external stakeholders on IBM-AWS topics

A day in the life

In this role, you will spend your days engaging directly with the IBM channel team and our key consulting partners to understand their business priorities, technical capabilities, and customer needs. You will collaborate cross-functionally within AWS to develop go-to-market strategies and enablement programs that accelerate the growth of IBM offerings on AWS. This will involve activities such as:

• Evangelizing IBM solutions on AWS through content creation, public speaking, and hands-on technical workshops

• Designing reference architectures and implementation guides for deploying IBM software on the AWS platform

• Providing technical guidance and support to partner teams as they build and deliver solutions for customers

• Gathering partner and customer feedback to drive enhancements to IBM-AWS integrations and accelerate joint innovation

You'll leverage your deep expertise in IBM technologies and AWS services to help our partners unlock the full potential of the cloud. By driving technical excellence and fostering strong relationships, you'll play a key role in making AWS the best place for our partners to build cloud-enabled businesses.

The AWS Partner Solutions Architecture team is responsible for enabling our vast network of partners to build and deliver innovative solutions on AWS. We work closely with partners across industries to understand their unique business needs and technical requirements, and then equip them with the tools, resources, and expertise they need to be successful. Our team's mission is to scale the discovery, development, and delivery of high-quality capabilities for AWS customers through our partners. We are focused on growing the AWS partner ecosystem, driving partner technical enablement, and ensuring our mutual customers have access to the best cloud solutions.

As an AMER Partner Solutions Architect, you will be a key member of this team, partnering with the IBM channel and our top consulting partners to accelerate their cloud transformation journeys. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact by helping our partners unlock new business opportunities and deliver exceptional outcomes for customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

• 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals

• 7+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

• 7+ years of highly technical, hands-on architecture experience with IBM solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

• Experience working with end user or developer communities

• 1+ years of experience in architecture and infrastructure needs of IBM offerings on AWS (e.g., IBM Maximo Application Suite, IBM Envizi ESG Suite, IBM Security Guardium Insights, IBM Security QRadar, watsonsx , Instana, Turbonomic, Apptio Cloudability, Amazon RDS for Db2)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
